Robinson-Fould distance
A rooted or unrooted tree is decomposed into a set of partitions by removing each internal branch. The RF distance between two phylogenetic trees is defined as the number of different partitions in two trees.
Triple distance
A rooted tree is decomposed into a set oftriples. The Triple distance between two phylogenetic trees is defined as thenumber of different triples in two trees.
Quartet distance
An unrooted tree is decomposed intoa set of quartets. The Quartet distance between two phylogenetic trees isdefined as the number of different quartets in two trees.
